just a spoon full...

i am a very hard-headed person. i know, you can hardly believe that statement. but, it's true. and because of this, God, in-order to get my attention, sometimes has to revert to the ol', "smackin' me upside the head with my momma's cast-iron skillet" approach. however, occassionaly all it takes is a spoon full of sugar to help the medicine go down.

you see, i am not a fan of winter. (gasp. shock. nu uh, girl.) i get very little joy from standin' at my kitchen window lookin' out at a blanket of white crap all over my once green lush lawn. i do love nights nuzzled up by the fire with my big fuzzy blanket. but, my butt would be on the next flight out if He would just release me. ( i would want to take ALL my friends and family with me, of course.)

but, alas, He hasn't. and, i'm pretty sure He won't be anytime soon.

now, here is the spoon full of sugar part...

wes: wahh. cry. whine. wahh. cry. whine. blahhablahhblahh...

me: wes, would you please stop the cryin' and whinin'? there is really nothin' for you to be upset about.

wes: (slight pause) but, my eyes are grumpy. i'll have to put new eyes in. 'cause these eyes are grumpy.

me: uhhh.....ok? ok!

so, here is what i learned. (again.)

if you focus on the white crap, that's what you'll see. like in this pic...

but, all it takes is a little shift of focus. and, all you'll see are the tulips.

and if that doesn't work...just change your whole perspective.
