I've had the time of my life

I was thinking about this weekend being Labor Day and naturally, Dirty Dancing popped in my head. "Join hands and hearts and voices Voices, hearts and hands" If you are readin' this, and don't know what I'm talking about, I am a little bit embarrassed to know you right now! :O

Anyway, this weekend we were supposed to go to Henderson, but a friend of ours needed some help and so we get the joy of having Maddie's best friend, Alexa, with us for a few days. We are going to make the best of our last Summer weekend.

My allergies were really bothering me, so I stayed home with the girls last night while Will went to the Indians (triple A) game with Lori and Forrest and Laney. Scottie went to a friend of ours' birthday party with Wes. I let the girls cook supper... from scratch... by themselves. That's right I let Maddie have full use of the stove and everything (I mean we are talking "blanching" I didn't know what it meant either, but she did it.) I will admit I don't think I have ever cooked something with that many ingredients. (big shock)

Wes and the girls played out front and they were trying to get him to "surf". I do love me some fall season, but it's nice to hang on to summer as long as you can.

Give me a C!

C...you got yo' C, you got yo C! (Sorry Robards Elementary days just took over (Go Eagles!)

Well, one thing that has changed since we started living in this town, is our interest in the NFL. When fall rolls around here, everyone proudly shows your blue and white! (except for those girls that wear the pink and white jerseys...that really annoys Maddie and me)

Scottie and the boys went two weekends ago with Jo Beth, Laney and the Forrests to tour the new Lucas Oil Stadium. (Maddie, Lori and I went...wait for it...wait for it...shopping!!) This place is really something. Then Sunday, we went down to watch the opening game of the inaugural season. Finally, Scottie and Will went last night to watch the second game. (gotta love the Suite #231 Life). Will was so excited he couldn't wait to call Papa and Toot-Toot and Hunter and Codie to tell them all about it! (Well, mostly he wanted to talk to the boys, he loves him some Hunter and Codie)! No offense old farts :)

P.S. Scottie had a few tears last night (gasp...big shocker) just lovin' being a dad. I can't wait for Wes to get big enough to go too :) Just kiddin' kids, not wishing time away! Thank you God for my boys!
P.P.S Had to throw that one pic of Wes in there...that boy can throw back some puddin' (sugar fee of course)

Wes Mess!!

Okay, so today, I took Wes to Stride Rite to buy some shoes. (fat boys have to shop at the specialty stores you know, there's no gettin' 'round it-7 1/2 XXW.) There was a little two-year-old girl there, and she said "baby"! Her mom said, "No, babies can't run that fast." And, boy, was that the theme of the day. I have seen my the last of my baby days, and am officially living in toddler town.

Lets begin...

After the "shoe fitting" more like "shoe show," (he took every shoe off the shelf) we came home to eat lunch. First, he "dropped" his yogurt on the floor and sent it flying all over the kitchen. He smothered himself in pb & j (hair included)! Then, as I was cleaning up the peach yogurt from the rug, he found my can of diet dew (ahh..sweet dew) on the bookshelves and proceeded to bathe himself in that. While I was using my miracle cleaner, Windex, on this spot, he takes it and somehow opens the bottle and pours about 3/4 on the floor. I look over and he is dancing in it like a rain puddle. While i am cleaning this up he found out that the dryer door was open (can't pass that up) he crawls into the dryer and can't get out. I find him, get him out, and finish a load of clothes. Then, I hear him, and find him in the hall closet with all the board games and stuff spread all over the place. Now, I am sure that if you are reading this you know about my "condition"! Anybody up for a Cocktail play date?

Wes- I love you, and you are my last baby. And (as viewed in the pics) when I ask for a kiss and you come at me with your mouth wide open from across the room, my heart just jumps. However, I'm not going to go on and on about how fast you're growing because truth be told, I'm holding out for age, about 4! Now, gotta go, Mommy needs a nap.

Oh what a beautiful morning...

Oh what a beautiful day! That's right folks it's Back to School time. I won't lie, I was excited to see this day. However, the older they get, the more fun they are and Back to School becomes less of an importance to this mom. Here are a few pics from Thursday. Maddie started 4th grade and Will is in 1st. Wes has signed up for talking 101. Children-of-mine, I just want to stop time. I was just looking at the expiration date of the cheeses today (don't judge-gotta keep things fresh), and couldn't even wrap my head around the thought of "where has this year gone?" I mean, I guess we just stay so busy, that we don't ever think about it. I thank God for every day He has blessed me with you guys and your daddy. Lord, you are so good to me! Love you guys!!

Catchin' up Summer 2008

We really had a fun summer. I'm going to try and recap real quick like. Maddie and I went to Guatemala. Will and Maddie went to Camp Indy two weeks. We had an awesome week at VBS (I will say I rocked the pre-school music). We went to the State Fair (thank you God for the giant tenderloin). We made homemade ice cream and played "army" with the neighbors. We enjoyed some fireworks with the neighbors, also. Will played baseball, and Mad started learnin' the guitar , Wes mustard up the strength to start walking - wide load comin' through! Us girls went to the WWW conference (while my geeker husband, stayed in town and had an all night fantasy football draft-I am at a loss for words). As a fam, we headed to Chicago and tried to stop at Indiana Dunes, but weather was rough. We went swimming at the Y a lot. (However, not as much as last year...too busy, things to do, people to see.) Mad and Will both had a butt-load (Maddie if you're reading this, we don't say butt!) Excuse me, bottom-load of birthday parties, and we contributed three of our own. I'm sure I'm missing a lot, but the moral of the story is...summer just gets better every year. more later -B

Catchin' up

Two weekends ago, I got the pleasure of attending a Women, Weapons of Warfare Conference with one of my best friends, Mary. Maddie, and two of Mary's four girls went with us. We had such a great time. The Lord showed up in such an amazing way. He is so good! There were women there from all over the world. My Zimbabwean sisters sure know how to praise. I am gettin' kinda mushy here, not like me, but I am so blessed to be a small part of this group of Godly women. They are truly weapons for the Kingdom. Maddie, Allison, Hadlie, and Mya really showed us how to rock it too! Maddie- I know He has mighty plans for your life, and you are living it out every day. God, may you bless all my children, and may they walk in the anointing that you have placed over their lives. I pray that every step they make is made in you!

P.S. I'll have to add pics later. We used Scottie's camera at the conference.

So, I am going to try and backtrack this summer. I feel bad having Maddie's party and not the boys. So, Will turned 6 in June and by July we celebrated with Will's first "sleepover". He had four boys (Barrett, Trent, Brayden and Tyler) spend the night and go to Bounce House. They had a blast! Sadly, (for the other group) there was another group celebrating a 6th birthday as well (all sportin' dresses and bows). Needless to say, the boys showed them how to really do Bounce House! We love you Willie Billie! You Rock!!!
